The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has updated its travel advice advising Australians to “Do Not Travel” to several Middle Eastern countries — including Israel, Lebanon, Iran, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates — due to a volatile and deteriorating security situation involving military strikes, armed conflict, retaliatory attacks, widespread airspace closures, flight disruptions and heightened risk to personal safety, making normal movement and commercial travel increasingly unsafe.
