The Australian Bureau of Statistics released the Wage Price Index: Australia, December 2025, showing that wages increased by 0.8 per cent in the December quarter 2025 and 3.4 per cent over the year to December 2025, with public sector pay growing faster than private sector pay for the fourth consecutive quarter.
